SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Simple Past Tense
1.      As Nominal

Formula:
( + ) S + To Be (was, were) + Non verb                          
( – ) S + To Be (was, were) + not + Non verb                  I, He, She, It → was
( ? ) To Be (was, were) + S + Non verb + ?                      You, They, We → were

Examples

           1.      ( + ) He was a student                                                2.   ( + ) They were student
           ( – ) He was not a student                                                 ( – ) They were not student
           ( ? ) Was he a student?                                                     ( ? ) Were they student?

2.      As Verbal

Formula:
( + ) S + verb II (past participle) + O/C
( – ) S + did + not + verb I + O/C
      ( ? ) Did + S + verb I + O/C + ?
